Babaláwo (Chief Ifáyemí Awópéjú Bógunmbè, author of ÌWÉ ODÙ IFÁ: Ogbè Òyèkú - Ogbè Òfún, has made some of the potent and ancient myths of the Yorùbá accessible, useful and entertaining. This is a very positive development in presenting what was once only an oral record of the traditions, culture and religion of the Yorùbá. This collection relates a few of the stories of activities of the Yorùbá Gods (Òrìsà).
Since many of the Òrìsàs had human attributes and adventures, we receive messages from their activities that we can apply in our lives today as we contend with the environment, our destiny and the unknown.

 The Ogbè group is the first set of fifteen chapters that follow the Sixteen Principal Odù IFÁ. Included in the book is a standard table of the 256 Odù IFÁ. The entire collection of the combination series, 256 chapters of Odù IFÁ, will be a masterful addition to the recording of the ancient wisdom of the Yorùbá.

 This volume was translated by Chief FAMA Adéwálé-Somadhi, IFÁ Priestess and author of two books on the Yoruba religion. Chief FAMA, an American born in Nigeria (whose native tongue is Yoruba), has done an impressive translation of the text.

 Chief Ifáyemí Bógunmbè is the author of several books on IFÁ and has an impressive list of credentials for his contributions to IFÁ. He continues to practice and teach in Ibadan, Yoruba nation, Nigeria.
